Yes, it's that time of year again! The creeks are flowing, the snow is melting and well.. it's raining too. In the last 30 days the lake level has risen about a half meter or 18 inches. Daily rise is about 1.5 inches or 4cm. We're currently well above the average lake level for this date, but below last years level. It seems that snow is still falling in the higher elevations and is currently around normal for this time of year.
So what does that mean? Well, with the high water last fall and where my dock is on the beach, your dock will have it's toes in the water now and could be floating free in just a couple of weeks. How high will the water get this year? Always anybody's guess. How hot will it be in April/May? How much rain? These are prime determinants. I'm just hoping for something normal.
