Wow, research is a costly business. Hiring graduate students to take samples and count fish for the summer, well it's like hiring a summer worker. Then there's transportation, boat, equipment etc. etc...
The SWOA contribution to this effort will be $7500 per year. We will also receive in-kind donations from MFLNRO, TRU, and we anticipate some funds from the Pacific Salmon Foundation. The SWOA portion is funded through our membership donations of $25 per year and uses a good portion of our reserves.
If you feel this research is valuable to SWOA members and the health of the lake, you might wish to make a donation to this research.
To make a donation and receive a tax deductible receipt, you must send your donation through TRU - the Thompson Rivers University Foundation.
There are several ways to make donations:
Send any cheques, made out to the TRU Foundation, with a note that the donation is to support the Shuswap and Mara Lakes Project
